Bar Local hits the right balance of great atmosphere, cool but friendly, young but not yoof, trendy but not pretentious. Its small but if you can grab a seat with a few mates, don't be surprised if random locals start talking to you. Who was that gorgeous oriental girl the other week?!

As a regular visitor to the pubs and bars of Clapham Common, I feel it is my duty to sing the praises of Bar Local. A small but pefectly formed bar with a wide range of cocktails, quality beers and great food make for a perfect day or night out. The service, Food, Ambience is second to none. That combined with a seriously funky music policy and quality DJ's at the weekend ensure that you will, like me, come back.
Congratulations to all the staff for making this the deserved winner of The Best Bar in Clapham Award 2003.

At last, proof in Clapham that it's not only size that matters. A cosy bar which manages to carefully balance the overt trendiness of its setting with the friendliness of your favourite local drinking hole, all the while boasting what must surely prove my first every experiences of an eternally helpful and likeable bouncer! The result - the perfect setting for both a casual midweek rendezvous over a fantastic meal or a weekend gathering of not quite thousands...
