Hi - This Ye Olde Pub Has Many Memories For Me....It Has Been A Long Long Time and I Would Love The Chance To Visit The Anchor Again...You See I Worked There As A Barman in 1980 - I Had A Great Time and Made Many Friends there Whom I worked with, But Also a Special Friend who has since passed away some years ago, his name as he was known to us all was "Mr Jinks". There are many stories to tell we all had such a good time working there.

Five years ago this place was still great .... ancient, rambling and genuine. Now it's been remodeled, and although the changes are superficial, they have ruined it. It's just not "user-friendly" anymore. More like a YE OLDE PUB THEME PARK than the real thing. If you're in the neighbourhood head southeast into Southwark instead, where are dozens of better pubs.

Loved it!
first we sat outside and enjoyed the river and the cool summer night breeze, then we moved inside for hte cozy pub atmosphere.
