Not impressed AT all. Average pub, which appears to be getting away with charging customers £5 to go upstairs to their overcrowded late license bar/disco.

Included in the price you get the following; Very slow service from two tiny bars to bar queues about 6 people thick;

Wait to be served in a bar that is about 50 degrees centigrade.

Oh, and its late license seems to attract a concentration of the biggest twats who have decided to live in South London. Twentysomething hooray henrys who probably had daddy's credit card all the way through university, and still haven;t moved on would best describe a portion of the clientele.

This is a pub with literally something for everyone. It is a massive place with several different function rooms. For example I went in last Wednesday and they had a free acoustic set on the top floor, salsa dancing classes on the first floor, a pub quiz in the back room and a guy with a guitar in the main lounge - we settled for listening to him and he was superb.

The food is good standard pub grub and it's a great venue for watching sport.

It is a proper boozer, rather than a trendy bar but it is frequented by a full range of people from the "I'm a Claphamite really but can't afford to live there" to the most down to earth residents of Balham.

Fun Pub in Balham with regular comedy nights and a terribly cheesy disco that is pretty good fun and open till late.
