Have been invited by friends to the Quizz every other Tuesday. Would enjoy it more if I could understand the questions which I can't because the the mike is just too uncomfortably loud........could you turn the volume down at all, please? Then it would make for an enjoyable evening.

Just a few moments from Hampstead Heath, but not suffering from the crowds that pubs directly on the Heath do this is a good find.

Specialising in good quality and reasonably priced wines selected by the friendly landlord. Also serves excellent food that makes a change from the pretentiousness of some of the nearby gastro pubs. The sausage specialities are always good value and provide a good hearty meal for meat lovers and veggies alike.

One of the only pubs I know that has its own library as well. You wouldn't come here on a sat night but for a sunday lunch and a lesiurely drink its friendly and serene circumstances serves up the goods.

Take the time to venture the 5 mins off the Heath for it.
