Matt & Matt Bar

Superb bar! Makes a change to go somewhere original for a change. The staff were welcoming, the music (funky house) was spot on and the crowd were surprisingly friendly for this part of town.

Definitely be returning very soon for some unpretencious fun!

really don't know what the 26 april reviewer is on about. the doormen are only unfriendly to people who cause trouble (i used to work there) and both matts are obsessed with decent music, so there is no way that 'cheesey r n b' would ever get a look in. it's a great bar with creative shots that they make themselves and really talented djs - get in with the matts and you'll have a fab time there, plenty of free drinks, but maybe a very sore head the next day!

Dreadful dreadful place - it's pokey with rude and aggressive doormen and cheesey r n b on rotation.

Yes it has a late licence, but so do plenty of decent places in the area (e.g BDH, Embassy).

This is a real gem in Islington. In a high street dominated by a very homogenous look when it comes to drinking, this place reminds me of a Spanish bar aimed at Brits.

They're very friendly guys who run it (old mates from school) who are eager to please their customers.

The atmosphere is relaxed and their partial to giving away free drinks to their favourites. The upbeat music without the club atmosphere is perfect for a weeknight evening for those out for a tipple only.
