Great sunday pub. yes the service is very slow - but that's why you end up in there all sunday! Even better if you can get a comfy sofa as well. Have spotted the odd celeb here and easily the best bar near the Angel. The food is always good and we love the bread on the wooden plate you get when ordering. A monumentous day before 2004 New Years Eve was also spent here - just ask Cathy B.

By far the best pub in Angel! And that is a lot to say about an area that is full of good venues!!! Take some friends or go on your own (they have books and papers, perfect for early Sunday afternnon beer after shopping!) and enjoy the lovely decor, the cool people, the tasty food and the great atmosphere. Defenitely my favorite!

I've been to The Angelic often and not yet had a bad experience. I would recommend it to anyone. As well as the food and drinks, the building itself is stunning. I love the corner seats upstairs or chilling out on the sofas dowstairs. What a great place.

Loved the atmosphere when I went. Full of trendy people. Chilled out. Good fun. Good food. Could easily spend all Sunday afternoon there with a group of friends on the comfy sofas. Heading back there on Wed night for a friend's Bithday drings. Looking forward to the veggie deep fried potatoes or whatever scrummy dessert is on the menu for this month.

Great food, atmosphere, music, drinks - they even have fresh juices / smoothies. Comfy sofas, bokks/magazines to pass the times whilst waiting for your friends to arrive. Completely different feel during the day and in the eveings. Yep - will be going back.

been to the angelic quite a few times as the place itself is pleasant and very chilled. we've always had to wait a long time for our food, which has been decent enough (a little bit up it's own arse, a lot bit expensive). however there always seems to be something wrong with the place (they're shortstaffed, the kitchen's closed, the chef's dead etc etc) that seems to guarantee poor service.

today, we waited 45 minutes only to be told there'd been a mix up and the order hadn't been processed. fair enough, this happens sometimes. when told we could re-order and wait again, we asked for a refund and maybe a free drink (as we'd specifically gone there and waited for food). the barmaid (tubby, pierced lip) informed us that she didn't like the fact that we'd asked for it and therefore wouldn't compensate in any way.

when i worked in the service industry i did exactly that - offered the customer the best service possible without unnecessary attitude. its a shame that such a good venue is being run by people with clearly no comprehension of this. shalln't be returning.

We often got to the Angelic because it is undoubtebly the prettiest pub in Angel..!!! It's lovely and grand in purple and gold, and even the loos are lovely (there is never a queue to the ladies - great!).

The food is jummy, traditional pub-grub with a young twist and changes every month. Their Warm Chocolate Cake with Cream and Strawberries is my fave for this month...!!! The staff is really friendly and they play Only Fools & Horses in the loo - can it get any better??
