Looks good from outside, the barmen are very friendly, the lounge area is quite nice and sitting outside on a sunny day would be the perfect people watching place, but one thing disappointed me very much about my visit there, my glass was dirty - it had grubby streaks down the side and bits of what seemed like the flesh from a slice of lemon all around the rim of the glass. If it was cleaner then it would be a pleasant place to drink.

Found this pub back in 2000, after a stupidly, stupidly hot day in June. A charming place, set in a very gentrified area. Unusual in as much as it has a lovely seating area at the front, is very airy (a distinct lack of smoke is always a bonus), and has the most gorgeous garden in the spring and summer months.
It will become very busy over the summer, but is well worth visiting if in the Hampstead area. Full of gorgeous women wearing bikini tops is always a bonus (sun-bathers from Hampstead).
The perfect place to relax after a hard day sun-bathing and/or people spotting on the heath during more clement times.
I've only visited the place once more since my first visit, but I have very pleasant memories and plan to visit again once rumours of the British summer can be confirmed.
