I was more than willing to agree with your reviews. Unfortunately I can neither agree nor disagree. Why? Because Bar Blend has closed down. As this was supposed to be a pre-valentine's surprise you can imagine my dismay when last night we discovered locked gates welcoming us instead of cocktails and food. Thankfully my date was as gracious as ever, and he found it amusing.

Perhaps you should alert future customers to avoid them making the same mistake I made. And as this is a review of sorts, can I still have the Champagne please?

Despite our shocking lateness due to travel problems, staff were fine about keeping the table free. It was surprisingly empty of diners, in fact, partly because Blend is as much a bar as an eatery, and also because the building next door was on fire. Service was good, no doubt due to the (entirely undeserved) lack of custom, and staff were friendly and fun without loitering or irritating. The menu, though not expansive, was a top-notch taste fusion, with some ideas I had not come across before in my admittedly limited experience, and was only let down by delivery problems which cut down choices. Great food, good wine and cocktails, cool atmosphere, slightly nutty waiters. And very affordable. Good stuff.

Had been searching for a place to have a leaving do and came across the reviews given on this website. What can I say every single positive thing said about this place is true.

We booked an area for about 20 people. Service is quick, friendly and professional. A DJ was playing good music all night (Blend closes at 24.00) that allowed guest to enjoy conversation and at the same time loud enough to dance to the flow of good cocktails being served.

A nice mix of people and 50/50 on the men/women ratio.

I guess at lot has to do with the people you hang with and it shouldn't matter where you are. Only sad this about this evening (Saturday 25 Oct) was that the clock was not turned an hour back until 2am. I would gladely have spent the time at Blend than being disapointed by the tacky and over crowded Attica.

the staff are very friendly and a little nuts, but this is a good thing. the cocktails are wonderful and great value for the area.

tucked in to Shorts Gardens and Neal's Yard the entrance is easily missed. this is a lovely bar to go to when you want to escape the crowds in the West End. chilled inconspicuous decor and low lighting. go with old friends and catch up away from the busy city life. ten minutes later your shoulders will drop, your eyes will light up and you'll forget all about everything outside.

just don't tell everybody.

Great place, fantastic drinks, wonderful staff, best bar to open in covent garden in years.

Try it and see you wont be disappointed.

you can even have your own little area if you book and the also serve great food

cocktails are new and different try the rose de vie or cuban date and they make one of the best mojitos I have tasted, the cosmos are wicked too

See you there

I have a great time everytime I go, I have eaten in the restaurant ( upstairs) and eaten the bar food also, while getting pleasantly merry on great and very resonabley priced cocktails..The staff are great and it is very relaxed and has a great chilled atmoshere. I have gone with big groups ( phone ahead and they will reserve you your own space} and with a girlfriend and it just seems to get better. No pretention here just a wonderful time and fantastic staff. And if you cant see anything on the cocktail list ( andd thats quite difficult because there are so many great and original to choose from as well as some all time greats) talk to the bartenders and they will do all they can to help ,, great aray of bottles on the back of the bar it has something for every one , the champagne (tattinger) is even a reasonable price 30.00 Give it a go its very relaxed and it even looks great and it has a very good door policy no problems here if you are not branded up to the hilt just give it a go if you want a good time and great drinks and food if you wish

Not bad - the head barmaid looks like lulu - the doorman is the most arrogant man i have ever met and they serve cocktails - just like any other london bar . . . .. surely? xmex

When to Blend for a friends leaving drinks, lovely deco, really relaxing inside and not stuck up like a lot of bars can be. The staff gave us a large space at the end of the bar with no problems, great cocktails, great wine and really nice staff.

Since taking a few friends, they have also had large gatherings held at Blend. I'm about to arrange my birthday drinks there so it can't be bad.

More people should know abotu this place, its a must if you need a new place to go!

Working in Covent Garden I thought I knew all the cool bars, obviously I was wrong. Having been introduced to Blend by a friend it has now become a favourite haunt of mine. The design is fantastic, it puts you in a relaxed mood almost straight away, the service is generally excellent and the staff really friendly and chatty. The food is good, whether you want a quick bite to eat (I recommend the sausages and spring rolls) or something a little more filling. I might be Northern, but I know a good cocktail when I taste one - Go on treat yourself to a Bramble, it's one of the best I've tasted in London (and I've sampled a few).
