This bar is great if you know how to enjoy yourself, has a fabulous little balcony where you can chill out and more....emm brings back good memorys? plus unisex toliets which can be game for a laugh when in the right company, drinks are average priced for the wharf and the atmophere is all good!

I booked a table for 4 for a Saturday evening near Christmas. When we walked in, we realised that there was no one else in the restaurant. I wanted to walk back out but as they had decorated the table etc, we felt obliged to stay. How I wish we hadn't!! The food was over priced, over microwaved rubbish. This was the first time we had eaten at Via Fossa and it will most certainly be the last time!

Food is generally poor and the service is terrible. You always feel as if you are keeping the staff from doing something else! Good if you are looking for a night out drinking but otherwise would give this a miss.

After reading the other reviews on this web site, my friend and I were intriged, could a restaurant this bad still be in business?

We visited on a busy Saturday near the end of the summer season and contrary to some of the reviews on this site, we had a wonderfull time.

It was refreshing to see managers in a busy outlet pulling there wieght along with the staff, there was a disco in the evening that was extremly enjoyable, a busy restaurant on the first floor and a huge heated outside area.

All of the staff that helped to make our night so enjoyable were freindly, proffessional and looked to be having nearly as much fun as we were !!

I would recommend this establishment to anyone, it manages to cover all the bases, plus give that little bit extra that is so often missing in this city.

This bar can win an award for its absolute disregard for customers. We decided to leave before getting drinks as the bar staff were so obnoxious. Im sure it is due to the poor management (read below!). This place does not deserve to have any paying customers.

Great location, great outside in summer and really attractive and cosy olde-worlde interior. Food is OK but we always just come here for drinks.

I honestly don't know what some people expect from a bar..because Via Fossa IS a bar. And as bar food goes, Via Fossa is excellent. The menu is quite varied, and the prices are more than reasonable. I have always found the service to be fine, and have never waited for long to be served. In fact I have found the staff to be competent and friendly, and I've been there on weekends, and weekdays. Everything on the menu is good, but I especially recommend the chilli beef nachos, and thai red curry. Excellent!!
