very poor service
arrived at 1pm 2/6/05 ordered two hot tuna melts. after 40 minutes food had not arrived. As this was our lunch hour could not wait no longer. Requested that our order be cancelled forthwith. Told by bar staff OK and given apology.
When overall bill was requested by colleagues still at our table, we found that our order was still included on the bill.
When asked for the £7.90 to be taken off I was told by staff that they could not do that, John(waiter) said we were told our order would be about 30 mins, we were not told this, or we would not have ordered food.
They said I could no leave without paying, this was company policy.
The Manager (Tim) was not available. I paid the £7.90 and asked the to wrap the food. This took another 10 mins.
I will not say the food was not nice, but the service and staff were bad. They made me feel like a criminal. I understand company rules, but there is such a thing as common sense in some instances and this was one of them.
I shall not recomend any of my collegues to go there again.

This bar is ace man, apart from being a world reknown disc jockey I also enjoy being on the other side of the decks. I first visited this bar on a friends nite out with his IT colleagues, this bunch were krazy katz. The bar was just perfect for any IT professionals wanting to let rip before an easter break.

I eat and drink in Bar38 on a regular basis, even though this envolves a little trek across London. The atmosphere is always what you're looking for, be it a quiet Sunday relaxing out in the sun or a lively Friday night. The food is excellent for Bar food (this place does not claim to be a restaurant) and the cocktails are some of the best around. I will continue to visit Bar38 so long as i'm in London you should definately give it a try.

I have eaten and drunk here a number of times and would recomend going to the back into the kings room (if you want bar type snacks/meal) as you can usuually get a seat - even when the rest of the pub is crowded (people seem to miss this room) and the seats are mainly confy couches and the like.
Whilst I have never eaten at the restuarant the bar food is acceptable although on most occassions I have been there they have got the order wrong (sometimes twice) -so if you want bar food don't be expecting to eat at the same time as the rest of your party
