Shoreditch Electricity Showrooms

Worst service I've had in London, rude staff, food was OK but overpriced, wish I'd gone to Viet Hoa for something cheap and tasty

Yeah who is this Veronica girl and what is she on? I can't think of a sillier attempt at a Gastro-Club in London. Stupider than a Shoreditch Mullet. The bar itself is fun enough, in fact nice. The new restaurant is in a sort of corridor that connects the upstairs bar to the terrible downstairs disco, and the toilets. The disco is only used by the seriously inebriated and the inevitable result is that diners are jostled at their tables every second by a passing stream of seriously bleary punters staggering downstairs for a dance or to use the facilities. My chicken was really nicely done in fact but I lost my appetite because of the thick clouds of smoke (this is a smoker not a New York joker) and the smell of spilled booze and, er, urine. The staff in this place are friendly and the verdict from the party was that both food and service were of a good standard, and well above your normal pub, but what you might expect for the price. Everybody was united in agreement that the meal was completely ruined by the absolutely ridiculous location of the tables, the cacophony from both bars and the glazed eyes of passing randoms. No offence to the Showrooms but there is NO WAY anybody should go here. Alright maybe for a seriously drunken office blow-out on the company card, but for a date or a nice meal forget about it. My normally cheery buddies were reduced to mumbling swearing wrecks. That said, they all soon recovered once the food was out of sight and a couple of excellent cocktails had been sucked down. Ludicrously poor.
