Square bar downstairs with plenty of seating at bar and tables dispersd throughout playing a good selection of music. Not pretentious but still a cool place. Cozy with a bit of an old-man's feel and yet very much a young person's pub.
Being hungry, I had a glance at the very appealing bar menu but, feeling that I needed something more substantial, ventured upstairs to the dining area. It was quite secuded up there, candle-lit and again with a feel that you could just make yourself at home. Service was good and freindly when it finally appeared.
I was surprised at the rather gourmet menu on offer and we ordered a delicious chicken liver salad and Spinach and Polenta soup. Yum. For main I had pigeon on a bed of lentils - a bit on the sparce side but what there was of it was tasty.
So, for an after work drink or tasty, reasonably-priced food, this is the great place to go. Ok wine list too.
