Went on Friday with 8 frriends (should have been 12). Pre booked table and food weeks in advance. On the evening waited 1½ hours for 3 pints of chips and a 2 plates of something we didn't order. Staff explained they had a new chef on, so we didn't get our usual cocktail sausage selection. After complaining, they let us have the food free, such generosity, and gave us 4 more pints of chips, just as well considering how much money we had spent, but not nearly as much as we would have done, considering the service, and some left early to get food. Will revisit but not in a hurry. Atmosphere though.

A great little place, off the beaten track. There is a good range of Belgian beers, both on draft and bottled. The food is simple and robust, and goes well with a Leffe or two. During the summer they open up the windows, and it feels like a real continental bar. Saturday nights are the best, when it gets just busy enough to give it some atmosphere, but it is not over-crowded.
One of Clerkenwell's gems
