Make sure you come here with a bundle of cash as there are no cash-machines nearby. The bar charges 50p on every card transaction.
Quite dinky, but cosy. Seats are hard to come by. Great Thai food; tasty, very good quality ingredients and resonsbly priced, served by a very friendly waitress. Shame about the surly bar staff, they should go on a customer service course!

This is a great place. It feels like you're stepping into a 1960's gangster hangout - especially when the music is all Kinks, Stones and Manfred Mann. The walls are adorned with boxing memoribillia - I think there used to be a boxing gym upstairs - and the drinks are moderately priced and the wine list is good. They also do fantastic Thai food at reasonable prices for large portions.
Just opposite Southwark tube, a great place for visiting the Tate modern and the Old Vic, and not having to contend with theatre/art overcrowding.
