L'Auberge

Disagree with the last review - this is a great place to relax on your way home - not as busy as the Firestation or the bar on Waterloo Road - I always go for the two pint jug - glasses rinsed in style using that continental fountain
Bar staff are always helpfull and friendly

I think L'Auberge offers something different. A relaxed atomosphere and an agreeable environment, I like the touch of the wooden tables and heavy wooden floorboards. The food is varied offering dishes ranging from cous cous with vegetables to Belgian sausages and mash. Most dishes are between £8-£13, which by London standard's is reasonably priced. The opportunity to try Belgian beer makes a nice change. I would recommend it as definitely worth a try.

I do like the place, don't get me wrong! But, being next to (or under) the railway can be a little irritating. The food is nice, like most french food, but not very special and a little pricey.
The service has been appalling, every time I went. They seem to have mastered the 'looking away' skill to some degree!
Don't think I will go again unless I get invited....
