How can people be negative about this bar. It is unpretentious, friendly and has the most professional bar service. I am gay and would ditch a thousand wanky gay bars to come here for a good night out. Still my favourite west-end haunt and that lady on the door has let me blag in on more than one occasion without making me feel like a twat. Long may you reign - happy and glorious!

This is one of the best cocktail bars I have been to in London.
The barstaff were extremely helpful and the drinks were fantastic, with an extremely varied menu.
Excellent bar to go to for a special occasion as it is a bit pricey.

Drinks average. Place pretentious. Staff awful. Don't go.

Most enjoyable, a bit pricy, but worth it, can’t complain really, and I found the staff friendly and helpful!

Overpriced and pretentious even by West End standards. Being Gay I'm quite used to being ripped off in London pubs but this one doesn't just take the biscuit, it runs off with the entire tin!
In short, I'd have to be forced back in here at gunpoint.
Save your money and go somewhere where they might even care you exist.

I'm amazed by the negative reviews below! This is my favourite London bar - not an everyday haunt by any means (yes, the drinks are pricey!) but a special "pick-me-up" treat.
I've never found the door policy strict, although I guess I've only been on a week night so perhaps Saturdays are tougher.
The cocktail menu here is the most impressive I have ever seen - you could visit every night for a week and drink several different cocktails per night and still hardly make an inroad!
The quality of the drinks is impeccable - the staff here really know what they're doing - and whatever you order is sure to be delicious.
The atmosphere, I find, is unpretentious with a broad mix of people and, no, you don't have to look like a supermodel to hang out here! Downstairs is particularly nice: cozy and dark.
I only drink cocktails at LAB (it would seem rude not to!) so I can't vouch for beer or wine prices, but I don't think they charge too outlandishly. In fact, I don't think I've ever been anywhere with significantly cheaper "proper" cocktails in central London.
So if you like a "proper" cocktail or several, this is definitely the place for you! See you there…

The cocktails here are fantastic: one of the best places I've been in London, and the staff are friendly. It's best on weekday nights, when you can get a seat, but okay at weekends too. I don't know anyone who hasn't got in, and I've never seen anyone refused entry so door policy seems reasonable to me. Prices are similar to other cocktail places.

Far from being pretentious, I found it friendly and relaxed. The drinks are fine and the range available is huge.

When they checked my bag, I thought it might be because of Security Concerns - the Admiral Duncan is only up the road. In actual fact they were looking for drinks so I wouldn't drink anything other than their drinks. Hardly a warm welcome. The drinks were good, the staff OK, the prices standard West End. Not worth going out your way for.

Good Stuff.
Drinks menu is extensive and well executed.
Bad stuff
Pretentious door policy, and don't expect to get served if you don't look like a super model.
It's a shame that you have to be in danger of disappearing up your own hole just to enjoy a decent cocktail in the West End.
