USED TO WORK IN THIS PUB IN THE 70'S. Bill and BETTY WERE THE MANAGER'S. HAD A GOOD TIME WORKING HERE AND MET MY FUTURE HUSBAND WHILE WORKING IN THIS PUB...THEN AFTER HE CAME OUT OF THE COLDSTREAM GUARDS, WE WORKED AT THE CHAMPION ON WELLS STREET, THEN THE HORN AND TRUPET AND THEN BECAME ASST. MANAGERS OF THE SUSSEX ON ST. MARTINS LANE. LATER CAME TO LIVE IN AMERICA...STILL HERE. HOPE TO PAY A VISIT BACK TO THESE PLACES NEXT YEAR...

Completely agree with Philip. If it wasn't for the handful of Chilean and Brazilian girls that I was with at the time, the night would have been utterly non-descript.

Although I find going out in Soho (heck, the whole West End, with very few exceptions) to be an utter chore, there are so many places better than this. I even recommend the Pitcher and Piano just down the road, over this!

Non-descript in every way.

P.s. Actually, I did meet a girl from Uni here after my friend and myself 'absconded' from a dreadful boat party and found ourselves here. She was absolutely gorgeous and so lovely that I spent most of the time kicking myself that I never noticed her at Uni :( Well, Ok. That's a plus point for this place but only for Bev being there (Hi Bev).

Utterly ordinary pub. Always has been, always will be. If you want style there are plenty of alternatives nearby; if you don't then this may well be for you.
