Totally agree with an earlier review that the staff are jerks. They make going out for a laugh with friends feel like a chore and act like punters are a necessary inconvenience. Loads of better, friendlier places to go in the area so avoid it. If suggested by a friend then spend your precious time with your friends with better taste !!

Some of the best food in London at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere in the daytime and weeknights. Sun-drenched terrace and large windows makes for great sunny days or evenings. Good local atmosphere.

Unfortunately transforms into a 'place to be seen' on weekends and gets incredibly crowded, not without its fair share of pretentious wannabes. I highly recommend it for weekdays, or weekend Lunch. Get there before the crowds!

This pub has a massive problem that the good food, buzzy atmosphere and attractive, arty decor cannot (sadly) overcome. The problem is the staff.

They are, to an ironically-mulleted man (or woman) an unholy (and unhelpful) combination of rude, unhelpful, unfriendly, aloof and possibly very stupid. Either that or they just don't want to be working in a bar.

Prime example - went in to enquire about my fiance's purse, which she thought she might have left there the night before. Get bar person's attention, begin to explain problem, and then his attention is diverted by someone he knows on the other side of the bar. I'm suddenly talking to the back of his head. When he's finished he turns back with a couldn't-give-a-toss-mate 'What?' Having finally explained, he then syas he 'wasn't on last night.' I have to ask him if he'll go and check that nothing has been handed in, which he only does after going to talk to aforementioned friend for five minutes.

And that's just one incident in a depressingly big catalogue. Why the hell can't the owners of this place find polite, helpful staff who don't think they're just too, like, cool to be serving any actual customers?

Don't go. You'll be very, very annoyed.

Excellent food and local atmosphere. Can be a bit chaotic at the weekends but then that can be fun too! Good wine list. Totally recommend it.

It's supposed to be very cool and in the summer the hordes of people pouring out onto the street would pay testament to this fact - however I've never been tempted to venture in for some reason...?

Seems a bit staid and starey for my liking.

One day soon though maybe?.
