Lonsdale

A fantastic place to meet old friends and new. The food is out of this world and so unbelievably moreish! A good selection of wines and a great cocktail list. Probably one of the best bars in London!

If you want smart cocktails and a bit of glitz but you can't bear the prise yourself out of Notting Hill/Westbourne Park then the Lonsdale will do you ok. The doorstaff are suitably formidible. The cocktails are good, albeit expensive, but then cocktails always are. The food is interesting and tasty although menu prices are deceiving since the portions are minute - the idea being that you order lots of little dishes to share. The crowd strikes me as being a bit self -consious though and no-one seems very relaxed - too pre-occupied with seeing and being seen.

Overall, it's ok, but if it's bright lights lights and cocktails you're after, I'd go to a proper glam bar in the West End (that doesn't look like the inside of Dr Who's tardis.)
