Well I regularly go there to skive of an afternoon, stumbling back after a liquid lunch to be catankerous to my work colleagues.
the food is fantastic, then again i am used to pie and black pudding, being from the upt north.
i tend to go for real ale in there meself, and, and am never dissappointed. have been rather alarmed of late by the inlfux of young trendies tho!

What a coincidence to be reading the reviews of the Windmill and to see my old friend Paddy Evans..We would spend a lot of time over lunches and dinners in the pubs dining room and have shared some wonderfull pies over the years..The steak and ale really is the most incredible pie I have had and Paddy and I have arranged through this sight to have dinner there sometime in the next week..Will be a great opportunity to catch up with an old friend..
Great place..

Among people that know me I am considered somewhat of a Pie expert..Ginsters, Fray Bento's, you name it - I know all about pie's..But the Steak and Ale pie that I had for a starter at the Windmill last week was absolutely the best pie I have ever eaten...I have now been back for lunch 4 times in the last 5 days and have had a different pie for starter and main course each day - they get better with ever sitting..I have tried to drag along someone I met on the tube but I am probably happier eating alone anyway..
Today I will probably have the Chicken and Mushroom Pie and a nice pint of starter...Very exciting..

I return to this pub for its food, like a moth to a flame.
The award winning pies and sausages are excellent, as well as great value for money.
It's a good place to meet up with friends for a few drinks and when everyone finally arrives, you can just pop up stairs for a lovely meal.
