The Library may have lost a little of its magic since Salvatore Calabrese departed. We visited a couple of times when he was there and were treated like royalty - despite the fact we obviously didn't frequent this type of establishment, we felt just as important as the people on the next table drinking from the hugely expensive dusty bottles of vintage cognac (and they probably were royalty!). It was still something special the last time we were there, but the service didn't have quite the same sparkle, and it was clear that our cocktail orders (from their standard list) were causing a little bit of head scratching at the bar. When they figured out what we'd ordered, the end results were still fab though, and the constant supply of canapes helped fill the time whilst we waited for the drinks. We'll be back (but mostly because Salvatore's new members bar is beyond the reach of ordinary mortals like us!)

This is, without a doubt, the classiset, bar in London!! When we visit the city from San Francisco (which has the second classiest bar!), my husband and I can't wait to have our first drink to relax and be pampered by the outstanding staff. The ambiance is stunning and comfortable, especially after a day of shopping. In the evenings, we come to enjoy Brian at the piano who is an icon at the hotel! I can't think of life without the Library bar and its mai tais, awesome wines and after dinner brandies! It's great no matter the time of day....

Absolute class. If you are looking for an after dinner drink in decadent surroundings this is second to none.

An atmospheric bar in one of London's premier hotels.

The drinks appear quite pricey but really what you are paying for is the location, atmosphere and people watching - which have to be amongst the top 5 in London.

From the exotic to the eccentric - you'll find them in this bar.

Bar staff will rise to the challenge of any cocktail.
